'JUST BECAUSE'
I thought of the many years
As I looked at mom and dad
Of love and joy, a few tears
And the special times we had.
But in my heart just then-
A reminder to warrant a pause
Asking, "How long has it been
That I hugged them 'Just Because' "?
Was it only when giving to me
At a birthday or special season?
I cannot remember you see
How many were hugs for no reason.
As I look upon mom and dad now
At faces with creases and lines
I know I've forgotten, somehow
To hug them for 'nothing' at times.
I've decided to see them today
To give what's long over-due
I'll hug them e're tightly
and say
"This is 'Just Because'
I love you."
"I'm not here for money to
borrow
Or favors to ask, as
before
This hug couldn't wait
'til tomorrow,
'Just Because'.........
"May I hug you both once more
?"
